the drivin’ wheels

Isn’t it about time a band comes around and reminds us of days gone by? Music that you can honestly say you recognize and a drivin’ sound that you can dance too.

The Drivin’ Wheels are definitely a band to be seen, they re-introduce retro rockin’ and honckytonkin’ like no others. No mind numbing imitation country, no droney country rap and no “classic rock,” just tried and true hell raising honkytonk that rocks.

So grab some danicin’ shoes and get on down to hear them live.

Retro Rockin’

Hey you Kats and Kittens, have a burning need to dance the night away?Well dust off your blue suede shoes and go cruisin’ over to hear the rock-n-rolling honkytonking sounds of The Drivin’ Wheels. They’ll take you back to the sounds Buddy Holly perfected and Kats like Elvis, Gene Vincent, Johnny Cash, Roy Orbison and good ol’ Buck Owens stood tribute too. With blazin’ guitar licks from the true troubadours of rockabilly and rock-n-roll like Eddie Cochran, Chuck Berry, Scotty Moore, Cliff Gallup and Don Rich saturating the air, you wont be able to keep your radioactive feet off the dance floor, baby.

Authentic Sounds

Re-inventing honkytonk has never been so fun. Waylon, Dwight, the Hag (Haggard) and the Kentucky Headhunters would be so proud. The boys of The Drivin’ Wheels do so right by the sound that you think the walls would just start to shake rattle-n-roll right off the foundations. Their crazy drive will make you wonder if they should be in the jailhouse now. They believe this amazing music should not fade away but be rockin’ stages forever. How do they jump, jive and wail? They searched for the right sound beginning with a custom created hollow body to emulate a Gretsch 6120 and an Engleheart Upright bass to slap like the greats of old.

Where Hep Kats Play

They may not be playin’ anywhere near Route 66 but they can take you there when they hit the stage.  The lost highway takes you back to the drivin’ beat and fast cars of the 50’s. Grab your friends, your family and a stranger or two and tell them The Drivin’ Wheels are here to preach the Gospel of music gone by.

The boys of The Drivin’ Wheels promise they are going to rock this town with a little stray cat strut. So don’t be the fool and miss out on the raw drivin’ energy of this retro honkytonk rock band that will show you their heart full of soul for the genre that most think has been forgotten. So, pull out your favorite (red) blue jeans and be bop a lu la down.  After all, when was the last time you were able to dance to every song played?
